WHOO HOO HOO, I WON CARRIE UNDERWOOD TICKETS

Damn I can't believe I won Carrie Underwood tickets last night. It's funny cause yesterday in the morning Tiffany called and asked me what I was doing at night. I told her nothing but crocheting, reading, etc, all my everyday stuff, and asked her why. She told me that our local country station WKLB 102.5 was gonna be at Indian Ranch in Webster, (couple of towns over), and they were gonna have free gifts and such and did I want to go. It's been so long since I've gone out for an evening, I said sure. I mean I love any reason to dress up. :) So, we talked a bit and I suggested asking a couple of our other friends to go with us and make it a girls night out. So, I called Beth, and she said yes. Tiffany called Paula, and she said yes. Great!!! Now there was 4 married ladies going out for a night out. We got there about 7:30 and the music didn't start until 8, and the WKLB DJ wasn't on until 9. They were giving away free tickets to Clint Black, Jo Dee Messina, cd's, and Carrie Underwood tickets. We filled out a ton of slips, then had a few drinks, (I love my coors lite), and danced a bit. The end of the night was when the tickets for Carrie were given away, and I had my finger crossed, and kept repeating "Tiffany, Tiffany," over and over. When they said Sandy Brown, at first I said "no, Tiffany" then with my daughter screaming it clicked, "hey, I'm Sandy Brown". DUH!!! I am so excited I am taking my daughter, Tiffany, and the concert is March 21. OH I can't wait. We found out that WKLB will be doing this again in April and again in May. All us girls decided we're going to those as well. I mean we would have had a great time even if I didn't win (but I did). It's not all about the win, it was just 4 friends having a blast. Best part was no one got drunk. We drank, we danced, (I'm paying for the dancing today with lots of pain), we talked, we just had an awesome time.

Yay, back to Crochet

Wow, I guess I was down a bit, but with the holidays over and me feeling better, (ya I do feel better), it's time to show the crochet I've got done, and the list of all the crochet I'm planning for the year. YA!!!

Well for Christmas, I crocheted 14 Bath Mitts for the kidz, 7 sets of Bath Sets for the women, and 5 Willy Warmers. Those went over really big. The guys all laughed, some said they weren't big enough, some said they were too big, and some offered to model them. NOT!! LOL But everyone loved their handmade gifts. Best part was a few of the women thought that the bath sets were a pot holder, and a strange dish towel. I laughed so hard, I almost peed my pants. I also finished a project and added to my mom's gifts; that was the hooded scarf from hooker-bear (Peter Franzi). He's such a great designer and I love his stuff. The patterns are easy to follow too.

So, now I'm finishing projects, and starting new ones. In fact last night I finally got to finish the nightie I was making for myself, (started last year), all I need to do is take a pic an upload it. I finished a pair of slippers for myself, I had to re-do the soles as the first time they came out horrendous. Now, they're done and look better. Not perfect, but they work. Will need to take a pic of them as well. I need to finish my cottage sox, (I had one almost completed and I have to frog it. it's too small). No biggie, will do that next. Got T's ghan to finish, then it's off to new items.

I've got 2 ghans planned for myself. One for the living room and one for my bedroom. Oh yeah, I ordered the yarn to make DH the Fisherman's Crochet Pullover (free pattern here: http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/jan_crochproj.html), and I'm making it in Paton's classic wool in new denim. I think he'll like it. As soon as it's finished I'll post a pic. I want to make some ami's. In fact I have one chosen to start, but I'm gonna try it in thread. The regular size looks to be bigger than I want so, I will try #3 thread and go from there. I have a set of curtains I want to make for the kitchen. I found I love Clea thread, and I buy it here; http://www.paraguaythreads.com/tienda/catalog/. It's so so soft and easy to work with. The curtains I have planned for the kitchen are done in a square and most are plain and a few have crochet apple appliques on them. I have 4 kitchen windows that I have to make the curtains for. Will put up a pic, when done.

I'm planning on making a lot of things just not sure where to start. But, I'll keep a log of that which I am working on, and those that are done I will put up pics. I'm even thinking of creating my own patterns. I have some ideas of things I want to make, and figure it's time I create them myself.

well, I'm off to explore before bed, but will be back soon to show my finished or started items. :)
