Been away a long time

Wow, it's been almost a year since I was here. So what's happened in that time? Not too much. I went to the concert and it was great. Carrie put on a fantastic show. Went to another concert in May, this one was Sugarland and that was great music. Then 2 days after the Sugarland concert I had knee replacement surgery. That wasn't too bad, I think the worst part was the gaining weight from not getting around like I was used too and losing muscle strength. Now I'm going to curves 3 days a week for strength and weight loss along with dieting. I'm not expecting a miracle, but I sure would like one. :) So I've given myself a year to lose weight and get stronger. As soon as the winter is over and spring is here, (I dislike the cold), I will add walking to my routine as well.

Speaking of winter, wow what a snowy one this is. I mean a storm a week. we have so much snow on the ground right now you can't see anything but mountains of it and in some places it's taller than people walking down the street. And they say a little more coming next week. It's gonna take the whole spring and half the summer just to melt it.

Went to the doctor the other day and I need bi-focals, (well, I knew that), but I found out I'm borderline diabetic and borderline for glaucoma. Lucky me. I think the dieting and weight loss will help with the diabetes, but eye screening is all I can do for the other. Most people that wear glasses go to the doctor every year to every other. Not me, I go ever 6 months. This is what I get for getting older. LOL

As for crocheting, I finished 2 tops for me, and a hat for David. Now I'm working on 2 afghans, sox, and curtains for the kitchen. The afghans are identical except for color and they are made up of octagons, the sox are for me (I always wanted to make sox), and the curtains are in thread for a change of pace. Just something different to work on.

Well, that's it for today. I'll get some pics of the tops I made and as each item I'm working on gets done, I'll take pics of them as well.
